Mental Math Trainer

Mental Math Trainer – Free Mental Math Practice Online

About the Game

Mental Math Trainer is a free mental math practice game for adults: type the answer, it's accepted instantly, and the next problem is already waiting. Train addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages right in your browser, with no download and no sign-up. Choose how you want to train. Sprint is a timed speed math drill: solve as many problems as you can in 30, 60 or 120 seconds, with a pace line that shows you against your personal best. Practice is untimed mental arithmetic practice with live accuracy for each operation, so you can stop whenever you like. Test gives you a fixed set of 20 or 40 questions, one attempt and a graded report you can copy and share, like a quick calculation test. Presets set everything up in one tap: Everyday for tips, discounts and splitting the bill; Quant Interview for zetamac-style ranges and a 120-second sprint; Bank Exam for percentages and quick simplification; Seniors for larger type, gentle numbers and no clock. Or build your own set with custom number ranges, negative answers and decimals. Unlike a math trainer that only counts your score, it coaches you. Miss a problem and a one-line tip shows the shortcut, such as rounding 47 + 38 to 47 + 40 − 2, or multiplying by 5 as ×10 and then halving. After each round you see which operation slowed you down, often with a button to practice just that one. Play with a keyboard or with the on-screen number pad on your phone. Your personal bests are saved on your device. Whether you call it mental math, mental arithmetic or speed math, this is quick math practice built for grown-up brains.

Math Puzzle Game - Mechanics and Core Game Loop

Solve arithmetic problems in your head as fast and accurately as you can. Each answer is accepted the moment you type it and the next problem appears instantly. Sprint rounds race a 30–120 second clock, Practice has no clock, and Test grades a fixed set of 20 or 40 questions. After every round you see accuracy and speed for each operation, plus a tip for the one that slowed you down.

How to Play

Type the answer to each problem. In Sprint and Practice it's accepted the moment it's correct, with no Enter needed. Choose a mode with the tabs: Sprint (timed), Practice (untimed) or Test. Pick the round length with the length buttons, and a preset from the menu. Enter or Skip: skip a problem. It counts as a miss and shows a tip. Test mode: type the answer, then press Enter or OK. Space: start a new round. In Practice, press Finish to end the session. Esc or ⚙: settings for operations, number ranges, negative answers, decimals, theme and focus mode. On a phone or tablet, use the on-screen number pad.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mental Math Trainer free?

Yes. It's completely free, runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, and needs no download or account.

How do I get better at mental math as an adult?

Short, regular sessions work best. Build accuracy in Practice mode, add a 60-second Sprint for speed, and read the tip after each miss. It shows the shortcut, such as rounding or splitting a number.

What's the difference between mental math, mental arithmetic and speed math?

They're names for the same skill: calculating in your head without a calculator. "Mental math" is common in the US, "mental arithmetic" in the UK, and "speed math" puts the focus on doing it fast.

What is a good mental math score?

It depends on the operations and number ranges. With the Quant Interview preset, about 33 correct answers per minute is marked as interview-ready pace. For everyone else, beating your own personal best is what counts.

Can I practice only multiplication or percentages?

Yes. Open the settings (⚙ or Esc) to choose operations and number ranges, or use the practice button on the results screen for the operation that slowed you down.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. It has its own on-screen number pad, so your phone's keyboard never pops up and covers the problem.
