You directly interact with the world: chopping trees, harvesting crops, mining ore, or salvaging scrap from ruins. Resources are then brought back to a central hub where you construct new buildings, craft better tools, or upgrade your character's abilities. This creates a satisfying loop: gather, return, build, then venture out again with improved efficiency. The challenge comes from managing limited inventory space, avoiding hazards during expeditions, and deciding which resources to prioritize.
